How Far Are You Willing To Go

Daniel 1:8 NLT But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods.
Question is how far is the 21st century christian willing to go for his God whom he professes to love with all of his heart.
Are we as christians willing to go as far as staying away from anything that defiles us. As christians we have an identity and our identity is that we have been washed with the precious Blood of the Lamb of God who is Christ Jesus our Lord.
Therefore like everything that is washed, we are clean and we need to remain that way so that when our Lord returns He will find a spotless Church.
As Daniel we need to also take a stand and be resolute in our decision. We must be as determined as he was, bold enough to say No to the meat and wine that this world offers.
The Apostle Paul admonishes us in Romans 12:1 NIV
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
If the body of man is the temple of the Holy Ghost, then man must do his part in maintaining the holiness of that temple. To do this we need not live our lives anyhow, we must not talk anyhow, dress anyhow, nor do anything anyhow, but in all that we do we must have it in our minds and hearts that we do it to the Glory of our God.
It may not always be easy but our determination to do it and our ability to actually do what we have purposed to do makes it all a worthy and an acceptable sacrifice to our God and it pleases Him.
Next time you pick out a dress to wear out think of the Lord and whether or not it would please Him to see you in it, when you have to say something to someone think of the Lord. Always think of Him before you do anything...give Him that place in your life and you will not regret it.
I love you...but God loves you more.

Heartcry of the Father

Throughout scripture we hear and we see the heartcry of the Father in such a tremendous way that it is impossible to miss it. God has always desired to commune and fellowship with man right from the beginning of creation. When He said in Gen 1:26, that "Let us make man in our own image and in our likeness," it was because He wanted to be able to see Himself in man so that He can relate with him. God is Holy and so He created man in the same way, holy and righteous. God was able to commune and fellowship with man just as He had planned from the start, but man was too covetuous and self-centered. All man wanted was to satisfy his greed and so man willingly sinned against God. It was rebellion as well that caused man to fall. He wanted to have his own way and so he had to go against the way of the Lord. So man was sent away from the presence of God, but after a while the Lord still wanted man back so he found a permanent way out, He sent His only Son to come and pay for man's sins with His life.
He wants to be more than just a maker to us, He wants to be a Father to  us, providing and caring for our every need. He wants to be our lover, loving and sharing the most intimate time with us. You only share very intimate moments with the one you love, but man's lust for the world has made him a prostitute. Moving from one lover to the other. Today man's devotion and attention is with God, tomorrow it's with the world; fashion, money, fame, sex, etc.

Man does not know what he wants, because he is lost he moves from one place to the other seeking refuge and finding none. Sin has made us wanderers like it did to Cain in Gen 4:12.

But we serve a living God. He is the bread of life (John 6:35) with him we will never hunger, yet man's greed has made him so restless and that his wretched soul wanders the filth of this world in search for that which satisfies and yet finds not, for he searches in the wrong places. He is the streams of Living Waters in whom man will never thirst (Jere 2:13) and (John7:38) yet again man prefers to entangle himself with what destroys him than with what keeps and sustains him.

He who has made our lives beautiful is beckoning for us to return unto Him. He is holy and as made us as such. He has made us priests, He calls us a perculiar nation because though we live in this world with all its rot and filth we are not of it and must not live like they do because as He is so are we here in this world (1John 4:17).

We must and should live a life that tells where we come from (Lev 11:44)
Here are a few scriptures that shows us the heartcry of our God calling unto us to return to Him, to repent from our sins. Matt 3:2, Luke 12:3, Acts3:19, Acts 17:30, Rev 2:16, Rev 3:19, Jere 26:13, Jere 42:10, Joel2:12, Ezek 14:6, Ezek 18:30.

God bless you.

The Whole Duty Of Man

Ecclesiastes 12:13

The whole duty of man as stated in the scripture verse above is to fear God and obey His commandment. If we fear the Lord we will obey Him by doing exactly what He requests of us. We will obey His every command no matter how difficult because it is our duty.
When we fear the Lord we reverence Him by putting Him first before all else. By putting God first before all else, we surrender our will to His will so that it is no longer us but Him in everything we do and in every situation we find ourselves in. Because we know that  he is faithful God and that he is the rewarder of them who diligently seek Him, we will do all we can as the Holy Spirit enables us to put God first and all others after, why because he said in Matt 6:33 that, seek ye first after the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other thing shall be added.
